SNAPSHOTS: California - PCH, Calabasas, Costa Mesa

11/8/21: Last night in Baltimore with the fam. Had homemade pizza for dinner. Liana and Luci came down while I was packing to watch Ted Lasso. Luci was climbing all over Liana, giggling and laughing. Being around a 4 year old’s total joy and presence is pretty wonderful… can’t help but smile and laugh right along with them. So grateful for this time with my sister… with my family… to just be.

11/9/21: Travel day back to California! In the airport was thinking about how people actually used to meet other people on planes… like my friend Randy who met his wife in line at baggage claim. As I was sitting around waiting, I tried to smile at people, send out vibes I’d be open to connecting… Pretty hard to convey that I guess while everyone is wearing masks and face down in their phones. As I was looking around I realized that not one person was looking up… * SIGH * [Put my headphones back in and went back to listening to Bridgerton on audible for the next 6 hours.]

11/10/21: Back on the road today driving to Salinas, CA. Nice to be back in the car, playing music, windows down… funny that I missed it. When I arrived at the AirBNB I was greeted by my exuberant hosts. They had 3 pages of directions they asked that I print out ahead of time to make my way to the house (it wasn’t that complicated). They greeted me at the driveway and as soon as I got in asked for my breakfast order for the next day, if I wanted a glass of wine, and then proceeded to explain all the politics about AirBNB in California. I hadn’t even put my bags in the room yet. All I wanted to do was go for a walk and pass out. I appreciate the hospitality… and sometimes less is more.

11/11/21: Sight seeing in Monterey today. As soon as I saw the Ocean from the car window I started squealing! Pulled over as soon as I could and went down to touch the water. The Pacific Ocean definitely feels different with its pounding waves and rocky coast. As I kept walking down the coastline, I started feeling a little lonely watching people connect. There were two dudes in wet suits hanging by the beach, thought about trying to strike up a conversation. Then one of their wives and baby walked over. Sat on a bench and downloaded Tinder… LOL. Maybe it’ll help me meet people as I’m traveling?

11/12/21: Started driving down the Pacific Coast Highway today. Stopped at Ailsomar Beach. GORGEOUS!!!!! Both the surfers and the water LOL. Water was crystal clear blue. Saw some red star fish just hanging out under the waves. As I walked down to the beach I passed a surfer packing up his car for the day. After I played in the waves I made a point to walk back to my car past him. Struck up a conversation and chatted for a while. With the podcast and everything I’m used to being the one asking other people questions… interested in their stories… it’s nice when someone is interested in mine.

11/13/21: Stopped over at a motel in Morro Bay last night at the end of an incredible drive through Big Sur down the PCH. Slept for shit. AC making weird noises. Could hear the person in the next room snoring. Still managed to get up at 6:30am for my first Tinder date though LOL. Interesting to have a convo with a dude who’s also on their own personal development journey. Was nice to connect on topics I was passionate about too. He knew I was only in town for the day, so said goodbye after an hour of conversation and walking around the pier. Was still fun to go on the first “date” I’d really been on in a while. Got me thinking about what kind of connection am I really trying to attract in my life?

11/14/21: First day in Calabasas with Gabby. Nice to land somewhere with a familiar face. Got settled in, did laundry, went grocery shopping, relaxed on the gorgeous patio, soaked up the sunshine. Gabby and I had a chill dinner, soup and chicken, just sitting around the kitchen table catching up. Continue to be amazed and grateful for all the people on this trip who have opened up their homes and lives to me. Reminding myself to keep having trust and faith, and remember that things always seem to work out.

11/15/21: Had a call today with someone about coaching. Continuing to ask for guidance and to be led to how I’m meant to be of service right now… on this trip… in my life. Sometimes it’s hard to have patience and wait for the answers… Don’t forget my love - this trip is about “following your spark”. You’re not supposed to have it all figured out ahead of time. Just keep following the breadcrumbs.

11/16/21: Had calls with two different people about Peru today. Hearing their stories, asking their perspective. Still haven’t gotten the intuitive hit yet if going to Peru will serve me right now. Have a coca leaf reading with Jhaimy this week, hopefully I’ll get some clarity then. Tried to go for a walk around the neighborhood after only to realize, there’s no sidewalks and the cars are just zooming past. Everyone was looking at me like what the heck is this chick doing? Calabasas may be beautiful and I definitely need to live in a place where I can go out my front door and take a walk.

11/17/21: GLORIOUS DAY! Set the intention to make space for reflection this month, and took the day today to do just that. Ran on the Peleton (since I can’t go for a walk LOL), sat on the patio, caught up on journaling, connected with friends back home. Took time for some intuitive practices today asking about Peru… still not getting clear answers. Let it unfold my love. When Gabby got home we sat around with Bob, ate sausages and watched some cheesy Dr. show with a super weird plot. Nice to just check out on mindless TV once in a while… and it’s even more fun with friends.

11/18/21: Coca leaf reading with Jhaimy today. Felt accurate. Talked about the journey I’m on. Interesting to hear about different dynamics in my life… different relationships. Talked about throwing everything in the fire that I’m ready to let go of. Letting my heart be reborn. Was great to reconnect with him and still waiting on that clear YES / NO for Peru. Trust it’ll come. Last night in Calabasas today. Before I got on the road Gabby was having a party for all of her friends going on a trip to Israel. They invited me to share a little of my story before I left. Grateful for the opportunity to connect.

11/19/21: Video shoot today with Women’s Wellness that Works in Orange County! Was there for 8 hours, connecting with other powerful women and being interviewed for Ann’s show. So grateful that I’m finally feeling confident and grounded in myself that I can be in groups like this and be inspired and not feel less than. Guess I must have been putting out some good energy, had a date to go hiking by the end of the day.

11/20/21: After paddle boarding with Isabelle this morning I took myself to LA for an artist’s date! First stop - Arlington Gardens in Pasadena. Beautiful space, got to hang my wishes on a wishing tree and walk through a labyrinth. Sat for a while and recorded the messages that came through. Last stop of the day was meeting up with Arleen at Alcove Cafe. So good to see another virtual friend in person for the first time!! Food was delicious, even if I did pay $7 for a chocolate chip cookie.

11/21/21: Met up with Stephanie for the first time in person today!!! Went out for tacos and boba tea. Was SO NICE to just hang out and connect on all the things, not just business. Went back to her house, met baby Théo and took him out for a walk. Talked relationships, babies, family, hopes, dreams… Can’t believe we’ve been masterminding for just over a year now, feel like I’ve known them forever. So grateful for these ladies in my life.
